Research Services

Our qualitative research work helps organisations, clinical teams, and policy bodies understand how people experience health, science, and technology in real-world contexts. We specialise in qualitative, stakeholder, and ELSI research across areas such as reproduction, mental health and neurotechnology, digital health, genomics, AI, global health, and space bioethics. Our approach is grounded in methodological rigour, ethical integrity, and a deep commitment to engaging with lived experience.

Why Work With Us

We bring together interdisciplinary expertise in bioethics, health policy, and qualitative research to deliver work that is rigorous, insightful, and ethically grounded. Our independence allows us to provide impartial analysis, while our commitment to lived experience ensures that research reflects the needs and perspectives of those most affected.

Our Approach

Our qualitative work is grounded in established research traditions and adapted to each project's ethical and practical needs. We employ iterative and reflexive methods, pay close attention to context and power dynamics, and follow robust processes for consent, confidentiality, and data protection. Our approach ensures that findings are both analytically rigorous and meaningful for real-world application.

Semi-Structured Interviews

We design and conduct in-depth interviews that capture nuanced perspectives from patients, clinicians, policymakers, researchers, and affected communities. Our interviews are sensitive, confidential, and tailored to each research context.

2

Focus Groups

We facilitate small-group discussions that explore collective values, concerns, and expectations around emerging technologies, healthcare delivery, and policy change.

3

Stakeholder Engagement & Co-Production

We work with public contributors, service users, and community groups to co-produce research questions, frameworks, and recommendations grounded in lived experience.

4

Thematic Analysis

Using recognised qualitative methodologies, we analyse complex datasets to identify patterns, generate insight, and provide clear, actionable findings.

5

Policy and Document Analysis

We examine legislation, guidelines, regulatory materials, and public records to situate qualitative findings within ethical and policy frameworks.

6

Stakeholder Mapping

We identify relevant actors, communities, institutions, and decision-makers to support strategic engagement and informed project planning.

7

Workshop Design and Facilitation

We deliver workshops for clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and public contributors, designed to generate insight, test assumptions, and support reflective, ethical practice.

8

ELSI Research and Ethical Impact Assessments

We investigate the ethical, legal, and social implications of emerging technologies and develop assessments that support responsible governance and decision-making.

Topic Areas

We apply our qualitative methods across a range of fields, including:

  • Reproductive ethics and assisted reproduction

  • Mental health, digital therapeutics, and neurotechnology

  • AI and data-driven health systems

  • Genomics, personalised medicine, and data governance

  • Space health and biological research in space

  • Public health, global health, and health systems

  • Policy development and regulatory frameworks
